Filming - First shoot
I have done recorded footage for my trailer and transferred this footage into iMovie . I am now sorting through the footage and cutting out all the useless footage I cannot use.
This will then make it easier for me to edit the trailer further down the line.

Planning - Music for trailer
I am currently deciding what music I want for my Thriller trailer. I have researched a lot into the different tempos and structures of these music pieces but I would really appreciate your opinion on what you think is the most successful.
Please leave your opinions in the comments!
ENEMY - I like the intense feel of this piece of music and how it constantly feels as if it is building up to something. The change in tempo really adds to the suspense of the trailer too.
Hybrid Chaos- This clip is the most aggressive and impactful out of the two but I think it would really suit the action shots in my trailer. I also like how it slowly fades in the middle of the song but then comes back in with loud dynamics and a tempo change.
BRINK - The way the suspense builds really suits the narrative of my trailer, and I like how at the beginning it is quite eery and mysterious.

Planning - Trailer Name
I created a mind map to try and help me come up with a suitable yet captivating name for the film of my trailer. By using these different words, it helped me have a wide picture of the possibilities I could use. I have now narrowed it down to two words which I still need to decide between, these are 'Shadow' and 'Fixation'.
I would really appreciate it if you could leave your own opinion in the comments of what you would prefer!

Planning - Shot Types
I identified what shot types I would like to use in my Film trailer and expressed why they would suit my genre and what I liked about them. This is important as not only is it a form of planning but it inspired me to use a lot more creative angles so my trailer looks as professional as possible.
Planning - Shooting Schedule
I have created a shooting schedule to help me be more organised when it comes to filming, this is so I can plan my actors and locations , making sure they are both then free at that point in time. This shooting schedule may vary depending upon weather (outdoor scenes) but I should be following this roughly as it will keep me motivated to stay on track.

Planning - Scripting for trailer
Due to my trailer only consisting of very little dialogue I am planning for a lot to be improvised as in the setting I am choosing I feel like it adds a far more impactful feeling to the trailer. However the very start of my trailer has the highest amount of dialogue so I created a script for that segment.

Planning - Character planning
I decided to create a Prezzi for the planning of my trailer where I have detailed each main character in my trailer, background information of that character and the mise en scene/ props. I thought this was a good way of planning the character profiles for my trailer so that it can be easily seen which character is which and why I have chose people to play these specific roles.

Planning - Letter to St Mary's Church
I created a letter to ask permission to use a local church in my area for filming. I did this as part of my planning as it was important that I knew for sure I would be able to use this area when it came to filming. In this letter I included the time, date and why I wanted to use this location for filming in order to give the church the knowledge I was requesting this for the right purposes. I am glad that sent this email as I then had the knowledge to plan my shooting schedule.
Dear Sir/ Madam
My name is Chloe Peters and for my Media course I have been asked to create a film trailer of my choice. I am contacting you to see whether it would be okay to ask permission to use your church grounds to film on the 8th and 15th on November at four o’clock for around 3 hours. I will be filming with three friends and I can assure you I will take great care when collecting this footage.
I understand if this request is not possible.
Thank you for your time
Yours sincerely,
Chloe Peters

Planning - Location Settings for Trailer
I have decided to identify what locations I will use when filming scenes of my trailer, this is a great way of planning for my trailer as I will know exactly what location to go to and for what scene. All the locations I have chosen are close to where I live which is practical and realistic for me, I will be able to get to them easily and if the incident occurs where I need to re-film certain scenes I am able to do this easily.

Planning- Storyboard of Thriller Trailer
I have created a storyboard for my thriller trailer where I have drawn each scene and added a description for what will be happening at this point of time. I have also added the type of shots I will be using the duration of the shot and the sound that will be playing int he background. This is a great way of planning my trailer so that when I am filming it I know what I want to do in each scene and how well and effective this will work.

Planning- Thriller Film Trailer Narrative
Narrative for Thriller Movie Trailer
My thriller trailer will be about a brand
new physiological thriller coming out December 2015, it will be full of mystery
and tension and the trailer will be incredibly gripping using all the codes and
conventions of a thriller trailer.
The narrative of my movie trailer is going
to be based upon a group of girls who are living there normal lives of going to
high school and working towards their futures, however series of events completely
corrupts their simple lives and leaves one girl in particular (Hayley) in huge danger.
One Wednesday night all the girls were
meeting up for a drink at their local pub, Hayley’s closest friend was running
late but she wasn’t too worried, she then received a call from her which she assumed
was an update on how far away from the pub she was when actually it was a
distressing phone call of a friend being brutally attacked. Right before the
phone hung up, a voice whispered saying ‘if you tell anyone, I will come for
you’ and Hayley was left shocked confused and scared.
The next part of the trailer will be all
about the horrible situations which Hayley finds herself stranded in, like being
chased in woods, stalked constantly my this mysterious figure until she gets so
close to the point of breaking she has to find out who this person is. She
realises with the audience through the course of this trailer that the person
who has been tormenting her must be someone who she knows.
This plot twist is going to make the
trailer incredibly gripping, as well as the fast paced music, action shots,
fast editing of clips and intense voice-overs. This is story line hold the
material for a great trailer where I can identify lots of codes and conventions
of other thriller trailers.
